Perfect for a quick lunch, weekend brunch or easy dinner, this recipe comes together with just a handful of ingredients.
Ingredients (Makes 2 Sandwiches)
- 2 pieces Zairyo Kurobuta Pork Loin Tonkatsu with Nama Panko (or you may substitute with our Chicken Katsu)
- 4 slices white sandwich bread
- Butter, softened
- Shredded lettuce
- Roasted sesame dressing (or tonkatsu sauce)
Steps:
- Fry the Kurobuta Pork Loin Tonkatsu until golden brown and crispy. You may choose to either deep fry or shallow fry.
- Lightly butter both sides of the bread and toast until just golden. The bread should remain soft while developing a light buttery crispness.
- Spread a generous layer of roasted sesame dressing (or tonkatsu sauce) onto the toasted bread.
- Top one slice with shredded lettuce, followed by the crispy pork cutlet. Add a little more sauce if desired before placing the second slice of bread on top.
- Gently press the sandwich together. Slice into halves or thirds and serve immediately while the cutlet is still hot and crispy.
Tip: Roasted sesame dressing gives the sandwich a creamy, nutty flavour, while classic tonkatsu sauce offers a sweeter, tangier taste. Both lead to a simple yet delicious Katsu Sando!
